Reveries: The Mind Prison delivers a psychedelic comedy experience from a #squadgoals #dreambluntrotation of New/Next talent: director Graham Mason (producer of Dad & Step-Dad); writers/stars Matt Barats (of New/Next 2025 short The Bronze Dog) and Anthony Oberbeck (of Dad & Step-Dad and this year’s The Travel Companion); and co-star Robby Rackleff (New/Next 2025’s Dance Freak). Together, what they’ve concocted feels a bit like Jodorowsky directing a feature-length episode of Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey. File it alongside Friendship, Rap World—and yes, Dad & Step-Dad—as among the hardest I’ve laughed at the movies since we started this dang film fest. (Eric Allen Hatch)
