Film description: This film attempts to illustrate “Man, The Unknown (1935)” by French surgeon Alexis Carrel and scenes within “The Temple of the Golden Pavilion (1956)” by Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima. Through the confessions of a disabled monk as the central story line, the work constructs an imaginative fusion of these two masterpieces, with the protagonist driven by a desire for self-destruction, reflection, and an exploration of human nature and the sublimity of beauty.
